Hosting a Hygge Outdoor Kid’s Halloween Costume Party
Fall is just the best! Sweater weather reappears, the nights and mornings have a
crispness in the air and Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the winter holidays are right
around the corner.
Another fun way to celebrate Halloween outdoors with kiddos is to host a simple,
easy, hygge Halloween party. I found everything for this year’s party on Amazon,
at Party City, and at Michael’s.
Kids will be served pizza and Halloween cookies on separate plates to keep germs
to a minimum, and there will be hand sanitizer on every table. I’m encouraging
masks, but up to the families since we’ll be exclusively outside.
We’ll have a Halloween candy scavenger hunt, Halloween rainbow scratch paper
artwork craft, knock the Halloween cans over, burlap bag races, pin the spider on
the web, an outdoor movie on the projector (from Amazon)—It’s the Great
Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and mini slime containers for party favors.
I’m using simple decorations including hanging Halloween led lights (pumpkin and
ghost) from Michael’s, black, orange, and white balloons, a Happy Halloween
pendant, and large orange Styrofoam painted Halloween pumpkins that I also
picked up from Michael’s and repurposed from my daughter’s princess birthday
party.
We’ll have prizes (Halloween bookmarks, and medals) for various costume
contest participants as well. Fingers crossed the weather holds so these kids can
have a Spooktacular time!
